EURO-FRIEND is the oldest regional group that started in 1985 around the construction of a comprehensive shared hydrological database.
Today, the group includes 31 european countries gathered around the UNESCO Centre ICWRGC (International Centre for Water Resources and Global Change).
The EURO-FRIEND regional group is fully in line with the priorities of the IHP (Intergovernmental Hydrological Programme) and is particularly committed to the 3rd priority "Bridging the data and knowledge gaps".
The activities are structured around 3 main research questions:
Every month the EURO FRIEND network organise seminar/training series dedicated to sharing experience between scientists.
The session will last approximately 1 hour, with about 45 minutes dedicated to the presentation, followed by 15 minutes of discussion.
You can follow the online session live (check our event page to register !) or you can find the upload videos on the EURO FRIEND Youtube Channel.
The ICWRGC also coordinates several database networks:
Project 1: European Water Archive
Project 2: Low Flow and Drought
Project coordination: Kerstin Stahl & Michael Stölzle (will end in 2022)
Project 3: Large‐scale variations
Project coordination: Bastien Dippois (took over from Nico Massei in 2021)
